BIJOU THEATRE, WOONSOCKET, R. I. REPORT OF SHOW THURSDAY NOVEMBER 12, 1914. JOHNSON & WELLS: Colored singers and dancers, 11 minutes (1) Lady & Man. Good act, singing by both members exceptionally good, while the dance interpolations by the male member extremely clever, and productive of much applause. SANTOS & HAYES: Singing and talking, 16 minutes (1) 2 Ladies. One of the two sings quite acceptably. The excessive avoidupois of one of the two, combined with the almost cadaverous thinness of the other makes a most ludicrous contrast, and the laughs were plentiful in consequence. PHASMA: "Goddess Of Light". 13 minutes full stage, special set. Big "sight" act: A wealth of beautiful and vivid colors; The dancing is not phenomenal. The act is pretty from an artistic viewpoint, being a riot of color and light. [W. E. Parmenter?] Manager. BIJOU THEATRE, WOONSOCKET, R. I. REPORT OF SHOW THURSDAY NOVEMBER 5, 1914. PEPPINO; Accordion virtuoso, 13 minutes (1) Fairly good act, and gives a varied program along the same lines as all other acts of this kind. WEBER & ELLIOTT; Singing and talking comedians, 16 minutes (1) Go very well with their singing, but as comedians they make little or no impression. GRACE DUNBAR NILE & CO. Sketch, 17 minutes C.D.F. 2 Ladies. 1 Man. Only a fair act: Comedy is not of a particularly funny brand, and gets few laughs. On the whole, not a sufficiently strong vehicle for a performer of Miss Niles abilities. [W. E. Parmenter?] Manager.
