REPORT on BOSTON SHOW for WEEK of DECEMBER 7th '14. (R. G. Larsen) PATHE WEEKLY 7 minutes in one. Even more uninteresting than usual. THREE LYRES 12 minutes in one. Olio Drop. This act served notice on us at 1:45 that they would not open the show. They backed down when another act was brought in. Are doing about the same line of stuff as on previous visits. Made good. FOUR ROEDERS 11 minutes f.s. Special Drapery. Two men and two girls in a novel bar act, with the women doing the understanding. Good enough to close any show. HAZEL KIRKE TRIO 20 minutes in two. Special Drapery. Girl and two men in songs, dances and piano playing. Lots of life and ginger. Went very well. B. A. ROLFE'S "YE COLONIAL DAYS" 25 minutes f.s. Special Set. About the same act, with a new scene. Going as well as ever. CHICK SALE 26 minutes in one. Special Drop. A riot of laughter from start to finish. IRENE FRANKLIN assisted at the piano by MR BURTON GREEN 32 minutes f.s. Tapestry Interior. Has four new songs and scored a decided hit. Obliged to give "The Chorus Lady's Debut" and "The Girl From Childs" as encores. VAN HOVEN 22 minutes in one. Olio Drop. This crazy magician had the audience fairly convulsed with laughter. Held this hard spot in great shape. It is a toss-up whether Sale or Van Hoven made the audience laugh the hardest. His new finish, with the boys carrying a cake of ice out through the audience, had the house in hysterics. HAVEMANN'S ANIMALS 16 minutes f.s. Wood. A wonderful group of lions, tigers and leopards, ten in all. Animals work well and are exceptionally clean and well-kept. A great closing feature. Could go anywhere on the bill, and made good.
