BIJOU THEATRE, WOONSOCKET, R. I. REPORT OF SHOW MONDAY DECEMBER 14, 1914. ARTHUR MORRIS: Card Manipulator, 16 minutes (1) Extremely clever card manipulator, and while he displays nothing absolutely new, his various sleights are performed with a deftness and dexterity little short of amazing, making in all a very interesting and mystifying exhibition. NORWOOD & HALL: Comedy singing skit, 13 minutes (1) Lady & Man. Good act, the comedy being new, and of the laugh-compelling variety, causing the act to go well all performances today. JAMES THOMPSON & CO: "The Burglar's Union", 13 minutes, Open One, close C.D.F 3 Men. Gets plenty of laughs with that brand of comedy which is chiefly characterized by terrific noise, and a slam-bang, boisterous, uproarous melee accompanied by numerous shots from revolvers of uncommonly loud calibre. Noise predominates the finale being little short of a veritable din. [W. E. Parmenter?] Manager. BIJOU THEATRE, WOONSOCKET, R.I. REPORT OF SHOW THURSDAY DECEMBER 17, 1914. FIELDS & ADELIA: Singing, dancing & comedy, (1) Special drop. Lady and Man. 12 Minutes. Fair act, Man has some good material in monolog, but is weak on dialogue. Lady dances well, and helps materially in sustaining what little merit the act possesses. TRYON'S DOGS: 16 Minutes full stage special drop. Exception "Hector", the dog featured, the act is far below the ordinary, the remaining dogs doing little or nothing; The feature dog performs numerous calculations in a clever manner, the various feats causing considerable mystification on the part of the audience as to the method of accomplishing the same. O'BRIEN, DENNIT & GOSLAR, Singing, dancing & piano, 1 Lady 2 Men. 14 Minutes (1) Decidedly weak as a feature: Man at the piano has one good number. The other man's attempts at comedy are deplorably futile; The lady sings in a voice that could scarcely be heard a dozen rows back, and were it not for the closing number which contains a lively and spirited dance, the act would have little of a commendable nature. This closing dance was their salvation and sent them off to good applause. [W. E. Parmenter?] Manager.
