REPORT on BOSTON SHOW for WEEK of JANUARY 11TH - 1915. (R. G. Larsen.) DANCING LAVARS 10 minutes f.s. Palace. Very short opening in one. A very good fast dancing act which opened the show in very good shape. FRANK MULLANE 12 minutes in one. Songs and stories. Mullane is a big light for a big show, but got over in this spot very well. Mme. LIANE DOREE and company in "BIG MOMENT FROM GRAND OPERA." 25 minutes f.s. Special sets. This is a very good company, giving three scenes from different operas, "Il Trovatore," "Rigeletto," and "Cavalleria Rusticana," all of which received applause. Apparently went well with the audience, but a good vaudeville act would improve the show, and perhaps draw more business. The fact that this woman and her troupe appeared at the cheap house across the street, did not help us here any, notwithstanding that I was assured that this was not the same act. CORRELLI and GILLETTE 8 minutes in one. Street. Doing much the same act as when they appeared here before, and getting over in good shape with both comedy and acrobatic stunts. ALAN BROOKS & CO in "STRAIGHTENED OUT" 24 minutes f.s. Special Set. This is a new version of Jesse Lasky's "Water Cure," which played all the ten cent houses in town. While Brooks gets a number of laughs on the spiral staircase, there is something lacking in the act now as there was on the small time. However, it served it purpose from a laughing standpoint. Is getting enough money. DOLLY CONNOLLY and PERCY WENRICH 11 minutes in one. O.P. Drapery. Have a new programme which went over very well indeed. HUGHIE JENNINGS and BEN SMITH 22 minutes in one. Special Drop. Doing pretty much the same act as they had last year. Going over much better than the general run of these freak acts. EMMA CARUS and CARL RANDALL 33 minutes f.s. C.D.F. Very short close in one. Miss Carus has better material than she has had for a good many years, and Randall's dancing going very big. The act is a hit. AERIAL BUDS 5 minutes f.s. Palace. A good, fast act, after the style of the Flying Martins, except that a rather attractive girl adds an element of novelty that the Martins have not got. Really sensational.
