REPORT on BOSTON SHOW for WEEK of JANUARY 25th - 1915. (R. G. Larsen.) VANDINOFF and LOUIE 14 minutes in two. Palace Drop. Lightning oil painting on glass. Excellent opener. "ELOPING" with BERRICK and HART 10 minutes f.s. Landscape. A lively comedy with four people, two of whom make up as a very funny prop horse. One song and some dancing. As a whole the turn is full of life and ginger, and got a lot of laughs. LOU ANGER 12 minutes in one. Street. It may be that people are tired of war, or that they don't feel like laughing at it. At any rate, Anger did not get over at the afternoon performance. For the night show he changed his material, cut out most of the war talk, and went better. BIRD MILLMAN TROUPE 11 minutes f.s. Landscape. Without a doubt, the greatest of all the wire acts. Closed the show in the afternoon, and held the house in almost to a man. Miss Millman carries a plant who sings from a box. A great, big hit. THE LEIGHTONS 18 minutes in one. Special Drop. Doing the same act they gave us on their last visit. Going as well as ever. CECIL LEAN and CLEO MAYFIELD 28 minutes f.s. C.D.F. Has a couple of new songs, but most of his material remains the same as when last here. Scored quite a hit. SOPHYE BARNARD 13 minutes in one. O. P. Drapery. A beautiful woman, with an excellent voice. Her program is in many respects the best of any single woman we have ever played. Held this hard spot with credit. FOUR BROTHERS MARX and CO in "HOME AGAIN" 41 minutes. Open Special Drop in One. Close Special Set in f.s. A farce comedy with fifteen people, introducing about everything heard of in show business, from singing and dancing to harp and piano playing and character comedy. The hit of the act is the harp playing of one of the Marx Brothers, but there are several other features that score heavily. A big, pretentious act that kept the audience laughing every minute. A great closing feature to a splendid show.
