H. T. JORDAN PHILADELPHIA SHOW JULY 26, 1915. HEARST SELIG PICTURES. Ordinary series of pictures this week. KURTIS' ROOSTERS. 10 min. Being the only act of its kind, it is a novelty. The birds perform a series of showy tricks on a very well set up stage and did very well as an opener. WHITE & CLAYTON. 11 min. Two blackface boys working in evening clothes. Sing a couple of songs and do some very clever dancing, closing with some excellent legmania work that gave them a strong finish. HARRY GIRARD & CO. 30 min. Seven men and one woman in an Alaskan incident, called, "The Luck of a Totem." This is a very odd musical play with a dramatic story and several musical numbers. The singing is far above the average and the dramatic story has a gripping climax. It held strict attention and closed to a strong hand. THURBER & MADISON. 13 min. "On a Shopping Tour." A singing and talking skit with a bit of eccentric dancing by the man along the same lines as their act of last season. Some new talk got a lot of laughs. Did very nicely. MRS. WALTER C. DALSIMER & H. C. SHEPPARD. 20 min. Two members of the Philadelphia Plays and Players, a well known local amateur theatrical association, and both principals popular in Philadelphia theatrical and musical circles presenting an Old English comedy, called "The Catch of the Season." The value of this act is purely local. It was well received. COOPER & SMITH. 19 min. Two colored boys in "The Bell Boy and the Porter," a combination of comedy songs, piano-playing and talk. Their songs are unusually good and very well put over. Each number was liberally applauded and they finished to a strong hand. RIGGS & WITCHIE. 14 min. A very high-class dancing act offering five numbers including a varied assortment of fancy numbers in different costumes. Practically the same as they used last season and they were very well received. LILLIAN SHAW. 24 min. Sang four numbers, three of them new, and closing with a character song that brought plenty of laughs and applause. For an encore, she used a sentimental song which scored strongly. Her act was as big a hit as ever. THE BELL FAMILY. 15 min. One of the prettiest musical acts in vaudeville composed of nine men and women, Mexicans, who play various instruments. In the closing position, they received liberal recognition. GENERAL REMARKS. A good warm-weather vaudeville show, plenty of music, dancing, singing and comedy liberally distributed and it went over in good shape. CUTS HARRY GIRARD. Expression "Wasting a h--- of a lot of time." Word "God." THURBER & MADISON: Word "God" LILLIAN SHAW. Word "God"
