H.T. JORDAN PHILADELPHIA SHOW AUG.16, 1915 HEARST SELIG PICTURES. 13 min. Fair. BOLGER BROTHERS. 10 min. in one. Two boys in evening clothes. Play a medley of grand opera and popular melodies on banjos. Some good stepping by one of the team. Close with lively rag numbers. Good opener. ROBERT EMMETT KEANE. 14 min. in one. "The American-Englishman" Sings two songs and tells some stories in the English "chappie" manner. Closes with a recitation. Wears evening clothes and has very good style and delivery. Finished to a good hand and could hold a much harder spot with credit. PEARL & IRENE SANS. 11 min. F.S. "Twelve Minutes Out of A Fashion Book" These girls have a novel idea for a singing act not thoroughly developed. Use a special drop showing fashion styles. Girls sing series of songs and make changes for each number. Fair voices and act went only fair. FISHER & GREEN. 22 min. Open in one, close F.S. "The Partners" Very good comedy sketch patterned along the lines of "Potash and Perlmutter," but with a different story. Bright lines and comedy well handled by the two men who are clever character comedians. Act also employs a girl. Was a strong hit. JOHN & MAE BURKE. 17 min. open in one, close F.S. Burke's piano playing is still the feature of the act. Comedy talk at the opening got liberal laughter and the act scored its usual hit as a first class laughing and musical offering. JOE JACKSON. 11 min. F.S. "The European Vagabond." Just as funny as ever with his pantomime and comedy cycling stunts. A surefire comedy hit on any bill. JACK CORCORAN & TOM DINGLE. 11 min. in one. Excellent dancing act opening with comedy talk. Their legmania work is far above the average and the act made good, closing to a liberal hand of applause. JOE HOWARD & MABEL McCANE. 28 min. F.S. and one. Their song revue includes several minutes of talk at the start and picks up its high speed with the singing. They use a medley of the popular numbers written by Howard. Act is prettily staged with special drops and Miss McCane wears several very handsome costumes. A big applause hit. THE CLOWN SEAL. 13 min. F.S. Very good novelty act, handled by a man. Seal is wonderfully trained, juggling, eating, smoking, playing musical bells, etc. all with very little urging. Great animal act and went big in the closing position. GENERAL REMARKS. Very satisfactory, well balanced show, with plenty of comedy and variety to it and played well on a very warm day. CUTS ROBERT EMMETT KEANE Word "Damn" FISHER & GREEN Expression "Oh, My God" JOHN & MAE BURKE Words "God" and "DAMN"
