H. T. JORDAN. PHILADELPHIA SHOW SEPT. 6, 1915. HEARST SELIG PICTURES. 11 min. Good average of pictures. HERBERT'S DOGS. 9 min. The loop-the-loop and leaping dogs feature this act. Chickens and cats are also used in the act which made a very showy opener. KOLB & HARLAND. 18 min. In a dancing novelty called "Evolution," opening and closing with dancing of the 1960 period with two comedy numbers and modern dancing in the middle. Won a liberal amount of applause. GEO. HOWELL & CO. 19 min. "The Red Fox Trot." This is a very good comedy sketch employing five characters and takes a dig at the present day dancing craze. It is a very well written story and splendidly played and a "Fox Trot" number is worthy of a big hand. Sketch was very well liked. G. ALDO RANDEGGER. 19 min. Italian pianist. A very fine musician whose repertoire is composed of the highest class of piano numbers, several of them of his own composition. An excellent act where good music is enjoyed and he was well applauded for each number, closing strong. KUY KENDALL & GIRLS. 17 min. In a series of modern dances with one song number introduced by the man. It is attractively dressed and some of the numbers are very well done. Won a fair hand of applause. COURTNEY SISTERS. 13 Min. With probably the best selection of songs that they have had, these girls were just as big a hit as ever getting a big round of applause with each song and leaving the audience applauding for more. ALEXANDER CARR & CO. 32 min. "An April Shower." This is a comedy drama by Edgar Allan Woolf and give Mr. Carr excellent opportunity to display his ability as a character comedian and an emotional actor which he does with telling effect, keeping the audience laughing in the early part and then swaying them with intense interest through a dramatic finale. It is a new sketch with a new theme and with this excellent actor in the principal role supported by a clever company, it scored solidly with the audience. VAN & SCHENCK. 19 min. They are still one of the biggest hits in their class. They had several new songs, each one going over for a hit and the boys finished to a riot of applause. As an extra encore they did a number with the Courtney Sisters that had the audience applauding for several minutes. BINNS & BERT. 7 min. Two men, one straight and one comedy makeup, in a comedy ring act. Got some good laughs and did some clever work on the rings. Did well in the closing position. GENERAL REMARKS. For the opening week of the regular season this bill came up to expectations in every detail, plenty of comedy, good music and no less than four big applause hits rounding out a show that had a holiday audience applauding all the way through.
