H. T. JORDAN PHILADELPHIA SHOW NOV. 1, 1915. HEARST SELIG PICTURES. 16 min. Good variety of interesting views. MacRAE & CLEGG. 8 min. One of the best opening acts we have had for some time as far as applause goes. It is a very showy number with some good comedy and finished to a strong hand. REIFF & MURRAY. 12 min. The man is one of the Reiff Brothers and his dancing features a light-weighted but attractive looking singing and dancing act. They did nicely, however, in number two spot, closing to a good hand. EDWINA BARRY & CO. 18 min. in "The Home Breaker." This is a comedy sketch by Jimmy Barry. It is built around Edwina Barry's rube character and got a fair amount of laughs, but finished very light. ERNEST R. BALL. 16 min. In fourth position, this popular composer went on and won applause with every number he played and sang, the audience applauding while he took a dozen bows. Sang an encore for an extra big hit. WILTON LACKAYE & CO. 21 min. In "The Bomb." This is a detective play with the principal playing an Italian being put through the third degree at detective headquarters on a murder case. The bit of character acting by Mr. Lackaye held the sketch up and there is a surprise finish. The piece held close attention and finished to a fair amount of applause. RAY SAMUELS. 14 min. This was her first appearance in this house. She sang half a dozen character and comedy songs which scored a big hit, leaving the audience applauding for more at the finish. MR. & MRS. FREDERIC VOELKER. 26 min. This is an elaborated musical offering of what Mr. and Mrs. Voelker formerly used in vaudeville, a little playlet being written around their instrumental music. There are bits of singing and dancing, and although the talk is a little bit draggy, the sketch is a very pleasing high-class musical act which will please any audience where good music is appreciated. It finished to a good hand. DOLLEY & SALES. 23 min. They put over the biggest kind of a comedy hit in the next-to-closing spot with a lot of new material and new songs. They took numerous bows and left the audience yelling for more. FLYING MARTINS. 4 min. A very spectacular aerial act. The boys crowd an unusual number of tricks into a few minutes and have a very showy routine. An excellent act for the closing position which they held in good shape. GENERAL REMARKS. this was an excellent show from start to finish, every act scoring and several big applause winners keeping the audience thoroughly entertained. Plenty of music and big laughing hits featured.
