BIJOU THEATRE, WOONSOCKET, R. I. REPORT OF SHOW FOR THURSDAY, MARCH 16, 1916. GENEVIEVE DAVIS: 11 MINUTES, (1) A very pleasing and acceptable bit of diversion, her offering of songs decidedly original, which are given in a voice not of very great power, yet withal, a sweetly melodious one. PIERCE & MAIZEE: 16 MINUTES (1) LADY & MAN A Clever team whose excellence in song, dance and comedy makes a very favorable impression, and the costume creations displayed by the lady are indeed beautiful, delighting all beholders. PALFREY, HALL & BROWN: 15 MINUTES, FULL STAGE, ONE LADY, TWO MEN. The 'straight' cycle work by one of the men is just ordinary. The lady dances skillfully, and possesses a wardrobe wondrously attractive, but it is through the work of the comedian that the act scores its big success. This man is very funny, and his comedy cycling has never been surpassed here. He created an uproar of laughter and he is unquestionably the prop upon which the entire affair leans. [W. E. Parmenter?] Mgr. BIJOU THEATRE, WOONSOCKET, R. I. REPORT OF SHOW FOR THURSDAY, MARCH 23, 1916. WORSLEY & ASHTON: 13 MINUTES (1) TWO MEN Singing is hardly fair, and the feeble attempts at comedy might be eliminated to very good effect, and were it not for some clever piano playing by one of the men, the act would have little of an appealing nature. RICE & FRANCIS: 14 MINUTES (1) SPECIAL DROP. LADY AND MAN. Some new and very original material keeps the laughs coming nicely, and although there was no great demonstration, still there was an unmistakable attitude of satisfaction on the part of the audience. TINY MAY'S CIRCUS: 10 MINUTES, FULL STAGE. All in all, quite a clever performance, and audience manifested its approval by frequent applause. The elephant is undeniably clever, the pony and dogs being no more than is usually seen, and act will undoubtedly score here owing to the gratuity of the owners in assisting in the special peanut show which will take with the youngsters and the children are good advertisers in a case like this.
