22ND ANNIVERSARY PROGRAM - KEITH'S BOSTON - MARCH 20, '16. R. G. Larsen. FRED and ADELE ASTAIRE 12 minutes fs. Palace. A splendid singing, dancing and piano act, with lots of speed. Too good to open a show, but they certainly started things off in great shape. HOWARD, KIBEL and HERBERT 20 minutes in one. Olio Drop. 3 comedians with songs and talk. One of the men closely resembles Willie Howard. They have good material, and put it over. Could go further down on a bill. GEORGE B. ROLLAND and CO "The Vacuum Cleaner." 18 minutes fs. Interior. This is a very funny rough comedy with Rolland, his helper, "Mike," and a prop horse that invades a lady's drawing room, wagon and all. Kept the audience in an uproar. A great act for this spot. FREDERICK HALLEN and MOLLIE FULLER 25 minutes in one. Special drop. Opened rather quiet with their talk, but when they got down to the old-time minstrel song and dance, put over one of the bright spots in the show. MARY and MARIE McFARLAND 11 minutes fs. Music room. Have a splendid program of operatic selections, and excellent voices. Went strong. MOSCONI BROTHERS 7 minutes in one. OP Drapery. Kept things moving right along at a rapid pace. WILBUR MACK and NELLA WALKER in "A Pair of Tickets." 28 minutes fs. Special Set. This new act is the very essence of "class," the best thing they have done, and went over big. CHARLES HOWARD and CO "A Happy Combination." 21 minutes in one. Special Drop. A splendid comedy act for next-to-closing position. A riot. MILDRED MACOMBER and CO in "HOLIDAY'S DREAM" 24 minutes fs. Special set. This act is twenty-four minutes of dancing and pantomime, and this should be taken into consideration in booking around it. The diving is merely incidental. There is classic dancing, toe dancing, dances of all nations, and the tango. There was dancing in six acts preceding Miss Macomber to-day, and although this did not seem to hurt her, it certainly did not help. After her Monday afternoon performance, the advance sale started, and it looks like a record week. COMMENT: A very fast bill, with singing, dancing and comedy predominating. Out of nine acts, seven dance.
