BOSTON SHOW REPORT WEEK of AUGUST 14th '16 (R. G. Larsen) JACK ORRI 10 minutes in two. Palace Drop. Eccentric juggler. Good act of the kind with considerable comedy. Excellent opener. MR and MRS GORDON WILDE 13 minutes f.s. Rose interior. These people have some new shadowgraph stunts. Put over quite a hit. TOM KERR and STEFFY BERKO 17 minutes in one. O.P. Drapery. Boy and girl doing a double violin act. Have a good program, and might go a bit further down. TOM EDWARDS and ALICE MELVILLE 30 minutes f.s. C.D.F. Short close in one. Olio Drop. Edwards is doing about the same act that he gave us on his last visit about eight years ago. Opens with some motion pictures of a Kaffir war dance in South Africa. The woman who assists him is also a ventriloquist, and has a good singing voice. A comedy hit. ALBERTINA RASCH and HER BALLET CLASSIQUE 21 minutes f.s. Eight girls and a premier in a series of ballet dances. By no means up to the standard of some other acts of this type we have played. Just a mediocre ballet act of the conventional type. LEW WILSON 16 minutes in one. Olio Drop. A new act and a good one. This man works in evening dress with a Charlie Chaplin walk. He sings, whistles, tells stories, dances a bit, and plays the accordion. Is a clever entertainer and put over a good-sized hit. THE MEISTERSINGERS "At The Flag Station" 26 minutes f.s. Special Set. Duplicated their success of previous summers. JOE LAURIE and ALEEN BRONSON 21 minutes in one. Street Drop. One of the best and cleanest comedy acts in one that we have played in some time. Young fellow and a girl in a talking act with a couple of songs. Their material is all good and out of the beaten path. Put over a big hit in this hard spot. An ideal comedy act for next-to-closing position. EQUILI BROTHERS 6 minutes f.s. Palace Set. About the same line of balancing tricks as on previous visits. One of the best of its kind, and a great closer. CUTS: Tom Edwards - business with baby's diaper and modification of expression, "Good God."
