H. T. JORDAN PHILADELPHIA SHOW SEPT. 11, 1916. HEARST SELIG PICTURES. 14 min. Good average of pictures. LILLIAN'S COMEDY DOGS. 9 min. Good looking dog act whosn by a man and woman, the man introducing some acrobatic feats. Act is nicely set up and furnishes a good opener. LEW WILSON. 15 min. This boy is a very versatile fellow and on his first appearance here scored a pronounced hit. He sings, whistles, does mimicry and plays the accordion, doing it all well and getting his stuff over in good shape. Finished to a big hand. "PROSPERITY." 14 min. (Ezra Mathews & Co.) Three persons are concerned in this cleverly written and splendidly played little comedy. It is a moral play which takes a good hold and leaves an excellent impression. The characters are based on a sort of "Everyman" theme and it held interest from start to finish, closing to a solid hand of applause. ANNA CHANDLER. 20 min. With four songs, three of them brand new here, she put over a good sized hit. Each of her numbers scored individually and the audience rewarded her with liberal applause for each song. If anything, this is the best act Miss Chandler has given us. "THE WORLD DANCERS." 29 min. This new novelty presented by May Tully is unquestionably the biggest and best dancing act of its kind vaudeville has ever seen. It depicts the evolution of the dance from prehistoric time to the present day and the group of dancers surrounding Emilie Lea and Tom Dingle is composed of clever artists. Following all the other acts we have had, "The World Dancers" scored emphatically and was a big applause winner. TONEY & NORMAN. 16 min. A very good comedy singing, talking and dancing act. They have a lot of good eccentric comedy bits and handle their material with excellent results. Kept the audience laughing from start to finish and won a good hand. STELLA MAYHEW & BILLEE TAYLOR. 20 min. They are doing a brand new act this season fashioned along what they have used before, but with some new songs and a couple of old ones, which they get a lot out of, and their usual supply of comedy chatter and cross-fire talk. Miss Mayhew won her audience with her first song and from that time until they took their final bows, they had the house laughing and applauding, registering one of the biggest hits they have ever made here. VIOLINSKY. 12 min. Doing about the same act as he used here before and getting away with it in splendid style. His classical selections were equally well appreciated as those tempered with comedy, and he scored a good sized hit. BURDELLA PATERSON. 8 min. She is the well known model who has been doing posing acts for several seasons and the one she has this year is fully up to the best she has offered. GENERAL REMARKS. This is our Fifteenth Annual Fall Festival and a splendid show. Every act got over, winning individual honors and as a whole, the bill could not be much improved.
