REPORT on PROVIDENCE SHOW, week of OCTOBER 30, 1916. CHARLES LOVENBERG, Manager. The bill this week is quite satisfactory, although not, by any means, as good as the one that preceeded it; two or three weak acts letting it down. Frank Le Dent Juggler. Rather old-fashioned in his methods, and means very little to a bill. Sufficiently good for an opening only in a very strong bill in the big-time houses. 11 Minutes In Two. Boothby & Everdean Miss Boothby is a very clever artist, and the team is entitled to credit for having a lot of original material. The act is quite satisfactory in this spot. 17 Minutes In One. La Argentina Spanish Dancer and performer upon the Castanets A most attractive woman who gives an especially fine performance, but unfortunately, Providence does not seem to appreciate that sort of work. We are trying to force her with extra advertising, and may get results that way. But in any city where this sort of thing is appreciated, I consider her a very big card. 12 Minutes Full Stage. Halley & Noble I wish they were playing at the opposition theatre. 14 Minutes In One. McWatters & Tyson McWatters & Tyson come back with some new comedy material and some of their old, and while they did very well, they did not repeat the success of their first visit of a year ago. 18 Minutes Full Stage. Regal & Bender Two boys with some comedy talk and some very good acrobatic work. The talk is fair; the acrobatic work, very good, and they finish with two tricks that are so startling and unexpected that they pull the audience right out of their seats. The tricks are: -- One man hangs head downward, the other fellow standing under him, turns a half somersault and is caught by the feet by the other man. In the second, the man hangs feet downward, the other one turns a half somersault and they are caught feet to feet. This does not seem wonderful in the description, but in the action, is the most startling thing I ever saw. If they did only these two things the act would be worth playing. 10 minutes In One. Jean Adair & Co. in "Maggie Taylor, Waitress" A very good sketch splendidly played by Miss Adair and the woman of the support - the men are passable only - but the act scored the biggest kind of a hit, receiving curtain call after curtain call - genuine ones. 30 Minutes Full Stage. Al Herman Mr. Herman "cleaned up" in every sense; both as to the quality of his act and the hit that he made. 15 Minutes In One. Mirano Brothers Sensational aerial act. 6 Minutes Full Stage Motion Pictures O. K. Cuts Frank Le Dent Cut out the water coming from cornucopia on the statue of woman. Halley & Noble Cut "B. V. D.'s Regal & Bender Cut "B.V.D.'s McWatters & Tyson "He's a devil in a taxi". Jean Adair "Devil"
