REPORT BIJOU THEATRE, WOONSOCKET, R. I., Thursday, Friday and Saturday, August 30 31, Sept. 1. EDGAR BERGER--- The Gymnastic Entertainer--Street clothes--does comedy talk, contortion tricks and head spinning; 7 min. in one; went good. HARRY ANGER & THE KING SISTERS--- "Cutting Capers on the Road to Hokus"--Two scenes; Scene I--The Road to Hokus; Scene 2--Charity Bazaar. Comedy act throughout. Special drop in one; 17 min.; went good. SIX AMERICAN DANCERS-- Three men and three women--Special blue plush drop; everything new; made a nice appearance in their nattie uniforms; their dancing as well as everything pertaining to their act was very neat--their dancing was, from remarks that I heard from quite a number of people, liked better than the old act. 15 min. full stage; went big all day. THE RISING GENERATION-- Composed of ten kiddies ranging in age from 5 to 10 years of age; special settings, camp, flags, etc.; representing a naval spectacle, with songs, recitations, marching, drilling, etc., all of which went over with tremendous applause and curtain after curtain. This is certainly some kid act. 20 min. full stage. [Signature: A S Watson] REPORT ON SHOW PLAYING THE SCENIC THEATRE PAWTUCKET R.I. AUG. 30, 1917. Hanlon & Ward Man and woman in full stage 10 Min. Special set. Comedy ring offering the Man doing a Hebrew. Went Fair. Payton & Hickey Two men in one 18 Min. Comedy chatter Called The New Chauffer Some singing. One works straight the orther does a Hebrew. Went Fairly Well. John & Mae Burke Man and woman in one and full stage 18 Min. Comedy chatter and songs with some good piano playing by Mr. Burke. Act whiche has played here three times was a big Hit. Five St. Clair Sisters work in full stage 14 Min. Musical offering with singing by one of the ladies. A pretty little offering of classical selections. Went Fairly Well.
