PAGE (4) (The Greater New York Chapter of the S.F.L.) JEDDARA ------------------------------------- ----------------------- THE MAGIC MACHINE CREATED BY THANDAR, KING OF THE OCCULT ---------------------------- by ROBERT G. THOMPSON. Thandar looked up. Around him demons, spirits, and other terrors that at night disturb the peaceful sleep of those who never before have glimpsed the black and terrible world of the occult. But this time Thandar had called up from the hidden world of the unknown a new thing to help the magicians terrify the innocent people of the commonplace. The God of the Machines!! It looked at Thandar with ill-concealed evil in its eyes. Terrified, the king of the occult endeavored to escape. His only chance----the Mystic Door!! But as he ran for it, the magic Machine followed him! A great darkness appeared-----horrible noises------a thud-----then a limp body fell to the floor. At last Thandar evillest of the magicians, had been carried away by the most terrible of all his frightful creations to the unspeakable world of black sorcery. ( T H E E N D ) "ODDS" by James V. Taurasi Quite a time ago, our friend Robert G. Thompson went to the public library and picked up a copy of Well's THE TIME MACHINE. In it he found the following drawing, drawn by another reader. Who draw it we don*t know, but it looked good enough to reprint in this magazine. [graphic labeled "Traced from a copy of 'The Time Machine'" To our surprise we found that the title we used last issue, ODDS AND ENDS" was being used by Stickner in his magazine. Also that Dick's column "TO THE QUEENS TASTE" is used now and then in a New York paper. Cosmic Publications has grown quite a bit since it was revised a while back. We now have added to it, the FANTASY NEWS published weekly by yours truly, The cost is only 3 issues for 10¢ The main reason for publishing this publication was to get rid of all the COSMIC TALES subscription. subscription
