JEDDARA PAGE 7 E P I S T O L A R Y JOHN V. BALTADONIS: "Comments on Jeddara: As club bulletins go, it's certainly worth a nickel. The best things in the issue were 'To the Queen's Taste,' and the advertisements. The worst thin in this issue being 'The Voyage of the Whosit.' Minutes aren't bad: Taurasi's column not so good. 'Defiance' seems okay. Not a bad issue at a. I look forward to the next issue - in June." JACK SPEER: "The Voyage of the Whosit in Jeddara was tops. The Minutes rather stuffy, but otherwise clear. Do I understand that the Washington Heights SFL has entered fandom? The last reports in Wonder, you know, said they were ignorant o our existence Most of Taurasi's Odds and Ends appeared in Fan a few days earlier. Defiance pretty good. To the Queens Taste fine except the hektoing. I like the Imagination! format." (The Washington Heights SFL---or, at least, its three most active members---has become part of the Greater New York SFL.) ROBERT A. HADLE (in a letter to Wilson): "Gas whiz, I hope my comments on Jeddara are of such a high quality that they are published in the 3rd issue. Bobbie Thompson's extra-length novel of the great Northwest was hot stuff. Was were the members who voted against its acceptance. Yourself?" (Yup. rw) "Miss Kuslan's poem was okey-doke as was your 'To A Queen's Taste'. Who'd ever suspect that to be the title of a gossip column? The minutes were so-so, and Taurasi's column was worth reading. The lengthy letter from Edgar Rice Burroughs was quite interesting. Quite. The ads were wonderful. I have one kick to register. What's the idea of making that crack about the Queens Chapter of the SFL being the only active Chapter in the East? Mayhaps you haven't heard of the Philadelphia Chapter? For our information, we hold regular bi-weekly meetings, with a regular attendance of 8 or 9. Foo." DALE HART.: "The second issue of Jeddara is very good. It's a bit superior to the first. Format and appearance is okeh. 'The Voyage of the Whosit' is a fairly successful attempt at humor, what with the 'tag'" (
