THE NATIONAL FANTASY FAN Official Organ, National Fantasy Fan Federation President: E Everett Evans Vice-President, Acting President: Bob Tucker, Bx 260, Bloomington Ill Secretary-Treasurer: Walter Dunkelberger, 1443 4th Ave S, Fargo N D Official Editor: Jack Speer, 5229 University Way, Seattle 5 Wn Contents for July 1945, Vol IV #7 ACTING PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE - 1 Tucker THE GENTLEMAN HAS THE FLOOR - 2-3 Fortier FANZINE SERVICE DEPARTMENT - 3 Mostly by Tucker Fancyclopedia Notice -- Correction - 3 Datum by Ackerman UNIFEN - 4 Tucker SECRETARY-TREASURER'S REPORT - 5-9 Dunkelberger WELCOM REPORT - 9 Tucker A map - 9 Speer We go to press before hearing how the vote on the proposed constitution turned out. The next issue may appear under a different name. ACTING PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE Short and sweet, and not too sweet. That's Everett's specialty. It has been suggested that the NFFF republish a lengthy work on time traveling written by Robert Swisher and originally published several years ago in the Fantasy Amateur Press Association. Accordingly, Swisher has been contacted but has not replied as this is written. If it can be arranged, it will probably be mimeographed inasmuch as the paper runs to several pages, and at least 200 copies will be needed. More on it later. Milty Rothman, who wrote what many believe to be the very best chapter in the Welcom Booklet, has written another long article on the new fan just entering fandom--the whys wherefore, and look-what-you-can-do-now sort of thing. This is also docketed for early publication, and will be distributed in the right places. Bob Tucker Please note: Until further notice, address all mail for E E Evans in care of Walt Daugherty, 1305 W Ingraham, Los Angeles 14 Calif. Editor's comment: The only section of Dr. Swisher's temponautical essay that we have read was published in Dick Wilson's fanzine "Escape" in 1939. It was excellent, incisive and amusing. However, we have heard that the whole manuscript, unfinished, runs to more than "several" pages-- around a hundred.
