7 PHRASE MOVEMENT FOR HANDBILL 2 AREAS 1 & 2 AND MOVEMENT FOR HANDBILL 3 FILM "WATERMILL" 1. Movement is in seven phases, and the seven phases are repeated over and over. 2. Movement is in a track, a straight line ahead. Direction of track is reversed once - participant encounters obstacle, such as wall, a piece of furniture a person 3. Movement is simple and carefully detailed 4. Movement as originally designed as a classroom warm up 5. Movement objectives (a) To build one's body energy level (1) IT takes less energy to do the first phrases than it does to do the last phrases (so energy naturally builds with the seven parts) (2) By repeating the seven parts over and over the body energy builds - by constantly rising and falling. (b) To learn the required movement and then concentrate on something other than the body moving (1) Physically the movement is easily learned by anyone (2) and the idea is to concentrate on something outside of the experience of the body moving ; while the body moves automatically. (c) As an exercise the movement helps develop one's ability to concentrate and know one's body better. (d) Although the technique is rigid and imposed, within the confines the movement allows for all types of people to participate and also allows the individual to find his particular approach of working with his body. (d) It is very important once the movement is learned, once the energy level is raised to remain relaxed, containing the high energy level The participant must feel comfortable with his body in order to remain relaxed ( The tendency is to tense the body once the energy level is high). The biggest discipline is to remain concentrated and relaxed while still moving. F
