Early intermedia pieces were inspired by random selections from the art library, historical accounts of objects in a time based presentation. The first of these was the Egyptian Funerary Repast, focusing on the transformation of objects into multiples available at a future time. Also, two dimensional representations which become three dimensional objects available for future consumption. Space was collapsed with the chamber becoming a mouth and the audience becoming the remaining teeth, implements for chewing, grinding. Dennis Swanson
