7. His ship is hauled overland. One third of a mile. A trench is dug to receive it. The ship is pushed forward on rollers, Until it rests immediately over the trench. Ropes are passed under its keel And over bollards ranged along either side. Pulled by the ropes The ship is lifted. The rollers are withdrawn. The ship is lowered Into its grave. It is backfilled with sand. The burial deposit is laid our amidship, Then strewn with bracken. The ground is leveled. A barrow is constructed over the ship, With turves Cut from the surrounding heath. The mound is made circular. To Rebear; To Redeem; To Reship; To Reserve
