{Drawing of students at desks with professor sitting at front of class behind desk} University Hall. Your payment at the rate of $1.50 per person per night must accompany your request for the nights you desire accommodations prior to Sunday, September 18. We strongly urge you to complete these tests prior to Orientation. This will assist us in preparing your final admission statement before you arrive on campus and enable us to mail it to you by September 10, 1960. If you fail to take the tests earlier, we will be required to keep your admission statement in our office until you have completed the test battery. ENTRANCE EXAMINATIONS At this time we wish to mention the University's entrance examinations because they are sometimes confused with our placement tests. As mentioned earlier, the American College Tests are required of {italics} all {/italics} new students admitted to the College of Liberal Arts, Engineering, Nursing, and Pharmacy and to the Dental Hygiene program. The test results are used for admission, scholarship, placement, and counseling purposes. Entrance examinations are offered, at the discretion of the Director of Admissions, to applicants whose scholarship averages or rank in class are below the minimum required for unconditional admission to the University. If the student completed the American College Tests on November 7, 1959, February 27, 1960, April 23, 1960, or during the summer testing program, these tests scores will be used to determine the admission status and the entrance examinations will not be required. Students are admitted on probation, admitted unconditionally, or rejected on the basis of the test scores and other objective data. An applicant who is required to complete the entrance examinations in order that his admission eligibility may be determined must also, if he is admitted, complete the required battery of American College Tests. Your Scores on the Placement Tests The scores you receive on the American College Tests are reported on your admission statement. We hope that you will keep this booklet and use it to interpret your scores after you receive your admission statement. The following explanation will help you to understand what these scores mean and of what value they are to you and to the University. 6
