ule of courses and will work with you in regard o general and specific requirements in your major field. Items E and F. SUI Skills Requirements and Placement Test Scores The results of the placement tests that you have completed will be shown in percentiles on your admission statement in the area designated for placement test scores. We hope that you will use the information contained in the section of this booklet that discusses the placement test scores to study the results of these tests. If you do, you will be able to determine your own strengths and weaknesses in the basic skills areas. You will notice that in Item F there are two lines for tests scores. The first line (I.C.S. and P.T. scores) will be filled in if you completed the Iowa College Scholarship and Placement Tests in 1958 or early 1959. The second line (American College Placement Test scores) will be filled in if you participated in the American College Testing (ACT) Program on November 7, 1959, February 27, 1960, April 23, 1960, or during the summer of 1960. Only [italics]one[/italics] score line will be filled in on your admission statement. You are [italics]not[/italics] required to participate in both testing programs. Under the section of the admission statement entitled "SUI Skills Requirements," you will find information about these particular requirements as they pertain to you. If you are exempt from Mathematics Skills, the word "excused" will be typed in this area or checked in the appropriate space; if you are being held for the Mathematics Skills course on the basis of the results of the tests, the number of the course will be entered. The same procedure is followed in regard to Communication Skills. The Physical Education Skills requirement is determined by several factors, such as the age of the applicant, the number of college hours completed (if the applicant is a college transfer student), or the number of hours of college physical education work completed. In this section the word "excused" will be recorded or the appropriate space checked if you are excused from the Physical Education Skills requirement, or the number of the required course will be shown in the appropriate space. {Drawing of man and woman in library} 18
