Orientation and Registration ORIENTATION During Orientation new undergraduate students meet with administrative officials of the University to receive information about basic rules and regulations. Conferences with academic advisers are scheduled as part of the program. Tentative semester course schedules are concluded with advisees at this time. Social and recreational activities that are of interest and value to all new students are also an integral part of the University's orientation program. STUDENT CARS All students driving cars must register them with the University; this is handled at the Field House during Registration. The registration fee is $3.00 per academic year. A limited number of dormitory parking area spaces are available to dormitory residents of long standing at a fee of $12.00 per academic year. Students commuting to the campus or who live outside the "campus zone" may apply for restricted parking privileges at a fee of $6.00 per academic year. The vast majority of students operating cars are not eligible for any parking privileges. Street parking is very limited near the campus. Students are urged to leave their cars at home. A car is not a necessity for an SUI student. 22
