REGISTRATION PROCEDURE Additional information about Registration will be sent with your admission material about September 10. In the meantime, however, these are the basic steps you will follow in order to become registered at the University. 1. After you arrive on campus, pick up your registration materials. They may be obtained by presenting your Identification Card in Macbride Hall, Room 129, on September 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, or 18, 1960. For the convenience of those who do not have to come to Iowa City until Sunday, September 18, Room 129, Macbride Hall, will be open from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on that day. Those who complete the placement tests on Friday, September 16, will be expected to pick up their admission statements (Room 1, University Hall) and registration materials (Room 129, Macbride Hall) between 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 18. You must obtain your materials at this time as you are to report for your advisory meeting at 8:00 or 10:00 a.m. the following day, Monday, September 19, and you must have your admission statement and registration materials with you at that time. 2. Before you see your adviser, become familiar with the Schedule of Courses, which will be included with your registration materials. Work out a tentative program of studies. Do not do this on your registration forms. 3. Report with your Schedule of Courses and registration materials to your adviser on Monday, September 19 at 8:00 or 10:00 a.m. 4. After you and your adviser have worked out your final schedule on the back page of the Schedule of Courses, copy your courses carefully on your registration materials, giving all of the information requested. A sample registration form is shown on page 26. 5. Report to the Field House on Monday, September 19, or Tuesday, September 20, according to instructions attached to your registration materials. COLLEGE OF LIBERAL ARTS REQUIREMENTS The graduation requirements of the College of Liberal Arts are published in the Schedule of Courses for your information and guidance. It should be emphasized, however, that you should discuss these requirements and your entire program of studies with your adviser. 23
