The time has come for students on the campus of the University of Iowa to realize that our educational and daily activities can no longer take place while irrational policies guide our nation and university. A student strike has been called beginning Monday, May 11. We join our nation's universities in support of these demands: 1. U.S. out of Indo-China 2. An end to all political repression 3. - An end to all racist attacks on black people, especially the Black Panther party. - An end to sexism (the exploitation of women) 4. The abolishment of ROTC and all military recruitment on this campus. 5. The punishment by law of police who assaulted blacks in last week's demonstrations. 6. The granting of amnesty for all persons protesting America's aggressive war in Southeast Asia. 7. The Tuesday, May 1w meeting of faculty-Senate on the status on ROTC must have 10 student reoresentatives. Roll call vote must be published. 8. All university employees affected by the strike be paid for lost wages. It must be emphasized that individual students need not agree with the demands in their entirety in order to support or honor the strike effort; but should realize that each of the individual demands affects him personally in his attempt to secure an education. For additional information call: 353-5746 or 353-5745. Mass meetings: 7:30 Sunday night--Main Lounge of Union 7:30 Monday night--to discuss and plan further strategy. In case of rain, meet at the Union's Main Lounge.
