PLEASE READ President Boyd has issued a statement regarding students leaving the University and their grades. We feel this is a clear attempt to confuse students and break the strike. The logical implications of this statement are not yet clear. There are lawyers working on the question of whether students may remain in University housing or on campus after signing this statement. Since this commitment does not have to be made until Tuesday at 5:00 pm. we urge you not to sign this statement until all the facts are in. In order to protect your legal rights, DO NOT SIGN NOW. Strike Steering Committee ADVICE ON LEAVING TOWN WHEN ON BOND 1. If on bail, you are required to show up at court for trial and probably for pretrial hearings. 2. If you leave town, make sure some one will notify you of any court notices sent to you. 3. You are liable if you fail to appear; which means that if you ever return to the courts' jurisdiction, you can be prosecuted. 4. If your bond was put up by a bondsman, and you jump bail; he may come after you. 5. There MAY BE information of court action against those arrested within two weeks.
