KINGDOM ROLL CALL The Kingdom Roll Call will be conducted Sunday morning, the 18th of November, as a part of the morning worship service. The matter of giving to the church and supporting the church financially is fundamental to our faith. We couldn't call it a faith if we didn't think enough of it to provide for its proper expression and extension. Thus the subject of yearly support and the method of providing it can properly be a part of the church service. Since there is never any mention of finance from the pulpit on other Sundays, we believe this should get careful and detailed attention at least one Sunday. Every member of the church is sincerely asked to be present at the worship service on November 18. Please do not ask others to do this duty for you, since it is your responsibility to God's church. After information has been given by the Kingdom Roll Call Chairman and the Treasurer of the Church, our members will be asked first to pledge for Benevolence, and then after further clarification, to pledge for the local church. The Finance Committee is pointedly calling our attention to the fact that our members have not adjusted their pledges in many cases to the inflationary conditions of the past years. This Committee found that our church is receiving only about half the proportionate amount received by other Evangelical and Reformed Churches. They feel it is their duty to call this to the attention of our members that our church may not suffer because it is dealt with loss generously than other churches, and that our church may maintain a good and effective program. The committee points out that if our membership would pledge ONE HOUR'S INCOME PER WEEK TO CHRIST AND HIS CHURCH, our church would have the support from its members which it deserves. This level of giving would still be nowhere the Biblical tithe; rather it would be about a forty-eighth. It recommends most sincerely that this suggestion be considered. Such giving would provide a budget of about $26,000 per year, which would be adequate to undergird a good program and maintain our fine property. Anything less would weaken the program and cause us to continue to neglect the physical repair of our property. Your presence is essential and should be considered an obligation Sunday, Nov. 18, 10:30 a.m. -3-
