MEMORIAL SUNDAY NOVEMBER 25 For many, many years we have celebrated Memorial Sunday or Toten Fest on the last Sunday in November. On this day we are mindful of those blessed souls who shared many days and years in our live sand who have meant so much to us. Although our thoughts are upon these dear ones of past years, we specifically give mention of those who passed from the church temporal to the church eternal during the past 12 months: Mr. Julian Pohren Mrs. Emma Hollwig Mrs. Ernest Mudd Mr. William Tiemeier Mr. Albert Hockenberg Mr. Henry Distelhorst Rev. John Buescher Mrs. Louise Butler Mr. Herman HOffman Mr. Clarence Stark Mr. Raymond Freytag Mr. Henry F. Griffel Mrs. Virginia McLean Mrs. Minnie Inghram Mr. George Inghram Mrs. Minnie Hippe Charles Stoermer The immediate family members are cordially invited to attend this memorial service. They are respectfully requested to inform all relatives and friends who might with them like to pay honor to these beloved dead at this service. UNION THANKSGIVING SERVICE The annual Union Thanksgiving Service sponsored by the Ministorial Association and the Burlington Council of Churches will be observed Thursday, November 22 and 10 o'clock in the morning in the Memorial Auditorium. The speaker will be Rev. Dr. Loren Lair. Mr. Lair is the presiding officer of the Disciples Church, and the Executive Secretary of the Iowa Christian Missionary Society. Mr. Lair is an able and inspiring speaker. The High School and College Choir will render anthems. There will be many hundreds who fool the desire to give expression to the fooling of "thanks" within them, and who will rejoice at this opportunity to give corporate expression of the same. -4-
