A PLEASANT SURPRISE Sunday School children of the Primary and Junior Departments, under the direction of Mrs. Ory Lowther, are now preparing for an evening of entertainment. Two well-known and well-loved children's stories set to music, "Henny Penney" and "The Cobbler and the Elves," will be presented. All the children of these departments will participate, either singing, acting, dancing or helping with the stage props. The parents of the children are urged to give the necessary reminders so that all rehearsals will be well attended. The program is set for the end of the month and further information about the date and tickets will be made very soon. Members of the Junior Choir are taking the initiative in presenting these musicals. Members of the Senior Choir are helping with costumes and stage sets. The funds raised by this program will be used to enlarge the music fund. Your friends and neighbors will be delighted to have you invite them to enjoy this fellowship hour with you. You, too, will rejoice in the opportunity to acquaint your friends with First Evangelical and Reformed Church. COUPLES CLUB A large number of our couples have asked that we try to gather our couples together and form some sort of organization. A few of them are planning a meeting for the evening of Sunday, November 25. This will take the place of the Young Adult group. The meeting on the 25th will not include the children of the couples. A program of fellowship with square dancing in the gymnasium is being planned. The meeting will begin at 7:30 o'clock. The group will organize and determine the conditions under which they will meet in the future. All who would like to share the activities of this club are urged to attend this first meeting. HARVEST HOME Sunday, Dec. 2 we will celebrate Harvest Home during the morning worship service. Our members are asked to bring jollies, canned fruit and vegetables, fruit juices, pickles, potatoes, and apples. These gifts will be taken to the Kings' Daughters Home for the Aged in Burlington. The Home is doing a wonderful service and should receive our support. It is good for us to express our thanks at harvest time. -5-
