SUNDAY SCHOOL This month the Sunday School welcomes Miss Ramona Determan. Miss Determan is a trained parish worker and will be responsible for the religious education and youth work in our church. She will also assist in the church office. Miss Determan is a graduate of our own church college in Elmhurst, Ill. Her home is in Wood River, Illinois. We have now waited for nearly two years for a parish worker and are indeed happy that Miss Determan begins her work with us on the first of November. The various Sunday School and youth departments are planning appropriate means to welcome her. THE NURSERY DEPARTMENT welcomed little Christopher Kerr into their membership. This department is bulging at the seams. The lovely room so recently provided for this age group is now hardly large enough to accommodate the number of children enrolled. If the members increase, and we hope they do, we shall just have to find a way of dealing with it. THE BEGINNERS' DEPARTMENT welcomed the following new members: Martha Leigh, Christina Ryder, Becky Lou Schachel, Holly Fiebelkorn, Marta Frietag, Susan Ryder, John Kerr, Clyde Carpenter, Judy Cook. This Department is also bulging at the seams despite the very large room and many facilities. Miss Georgia Gerling has become a member of the teaching staff in this department. Mrs. Clarence Johnson recently treated every member of the department with a highly decorated and tasty cookie. THE JUNIOR DEPARTMENT welcomed Arlene and Jean Cook and Barbara Cable into membership. This Department is already talking about all they want to do for the two orphans the Sunday School adopted. Mrs. Harold Loose and Mrs. John Kerr visited the Junior Department. They will stand by as substitutes to assist the teachers when necessary. THE PRIMARY DEPARTMENT welcomed eight new members: Beth McLaury, Kathleen Flynn, Joseph Born, Lind Carpenter, Linda Zaiser, Lonny Brockway, Mark Pohren and Richard Gerling. Bonnie Wickerham and Merrilee Keller received awards from their teacher for learning "memory" work perfectly. Miss Elanor Berges is now existing with the secretarial work in the Primary Department.
