MEMORIAL TRUST FUND A gift of $20.00 was given in memory of Mrs. Alvine Gerdom Klappmeier and Mr. and Mrs. Henry J. Gerdom by Mr. John Klappmeier. A gift of $10.00 was given in memory of Mr. Raymond Freytag by Mrs. Raymond Freytag. The principal of this fund, which is now $1,940, will remain intact, and will be used only in case of disaster or some large building endeavor of a memorial significance. The interest from the fund will be used for charity within the church family. Any gift of a dollar or more will be welcomed. A card will be sent to the family of the person memorialized, and to the person making the gift. NATIVITY SCENE The Nativity Scene Fund is continuing to grow. Gifts have recently been received from: Mr. & Mrs. Gerald Crabbe $10.00 Mr. & Mrs. Stanley Frank 10.00 The Farrell Family $5.00 Mrs. H. C. Distelhort 10.00 This Fund now approximates $100. The Fund will someday replace the old Nativity Scene which we enjoyed for so many years, and which was set up in the foyer of the Church each year. The old scene and characters are quite worn and shabby. While in Oberammergau the pastor saw wonderful sets which were all wood-carved figures. Upon returning here, constant efforts were made to find some group which did such work in this country. Should any of our readers be able to give us a definite address of wood-carvers, we would be grateful. In the meantime the pastor has written to Oberammergau in the hope of determining the cost and tariff duty for the importation of such sets. PAINTING FUND An unsolicited sum of $5.00 was received for the painting of the Beginners' Room. A few other people offered to give similar sums if this work be done. However, a bid for such work has not been received. As soon as such bid is received and the amount subscribed to, the work will naturally be done. It is amazing and encouraging the way our members get behind projects even before they are begun. -16-
