NEW LOCATION FOR REGISTERING SOCIAL EVENTS, SOLICITATIONS

This summer the Office of Student Affairs implemented a comprehensive reorganization plan designed to meet the changing needs of the student body and the University. A complete description of this reorganization will appear soon in the Daily Iowan.

As part of this reorganization, the Office of Student Activities under the direction of Dr. Roger D. Augustine will no act on behalf of the Office of Student Affairs in administering the regulations concerning student organizations as outlined in Chapters IV and VIII of the Code of Student Life. Specifically, organizations should contact the Office of Student Activities to make the following arrangements:

1. To register a social event.
2. To request authorization to distribute, sell or solicit in University facilities.
3. To secure approval for fund-raising activities.
4. To secure approval of programs for which admission is to be charged.
5. To secure approval of any event which includes a speaker from off campus.
6. To secure approval for student organization trips.

The Office of Student Activities will also be responsible for maintaining records on all recognized student organizations, including the names and addresses of officers and advisers. Changes in these positions should be reported promptly. This office will continue to work with students who are interested in establishing new organizations.

In addition to Dr. Augustine, the staff includes Mrs. Marcia Whitney, Assistant Director of Student Activities, and Miss Judy Raveling, Secretary. The office is presently located on the first floor of the Iowa Memorial Union next to the TV lounge. The telephone number is 353-5761.
