ORIENTATION IS A "HAPPENING"!

Orientation, a "Welcome, Get Acquainted Period" period in the fall, will son be underway again. This is a student-planned program designed to aid the new student in his adjustment to college life.

One of the most popular and well-attended events included in this year's two-week program, among which are the Mass Meeting, Church Night, Meet Your Student Senate, Recreation Night, and Academic Reception, is the Activities Carnival.

On Friday, September 29, from 7 to 11:30 the Iowa Memorial Union will be transformed into a carnival featuring student activities at the University. Groups will be competing in the best midway style to interest eager students in their organizations. This event emphasizes demonstrations and previews of the programs to be offered to the students during the year.

All organizations (contacted last spring) who still wish to participate must attend a mandatory meeting on Sunday, September 24 at 4 p.m. in the Union Minnesota Room. Other interested groups should contact Kathy Corcoran at 337-2151 and come to this meeting.

Finally, the most important thing to remember is that Orientation is an all-University affair, not just for freshmen or transfer students. Come prepared for everything . . . see you there!
