Student Activity Bulletin University of Iowa Office of Student Affairs PLEASE POST Vol. IV, No. 2 September 26, 1969 NEW ORGANIZATIONS ON CAMPUS The following organizations are in the process of getting started this semester. Their names and a brief description may help to introduce them to others on campus. Women's Liberation Front: An organization of women dedicated to fighting the economic, political, educational and personal oppression of women. Radical Students Association They have not as yet provided a description of goals or a statement of purpose. Friends of the PLP (Progressive Labor Party): Their main purpose is to sell literature for educational purposes. Society for the New Intellectual: A philosophical discussion group which holds that the key to philosophical understanding is the philosophy of objectivism. This is not the same as the organization called "Students of Objectivism". There is an important difference in their approach to rationality. University of Iowa Libertarian Association: This group intends to expound libertarian principles, not so much as a discussion group but through political interests and activities. A libertarian can be described as one who advocates freedom for individuals, in the sense that each person knows his own interests best and thus should not be forced to act in accordance with the judgements and values of another. Anyone who wants more information about these organizations may call the Office of Student Activities (353-5761).
