October 10, 1969 STUDENT ACTIVITIES BULLETIN Page 5 IOWA HAWKEYE MARCHING BAND DRESSES UP FOR 1969 When the Hawkeyes went to the Rose Bowl in Pasadena in 1959 and beat the University of California, the Iowa Marching Band was sporting new uniforms. This fall, after ten years of hard wear the uniforms have been replaced by new ones. Perhaps the band is creating a good omen for the team this year. The new uniforms are a black tuxedo-type suit with a white, gold and black overjacket which is taken off for concerts. The uniforms were purchased from the University of Iowa Athletic Department.
