The Classical Evenings committee brings faculty and student recitals to the Union.

The Hootenanny committee presents bimonthly hootenannies, followed by jam sessions.

The Folk Festival committee is planning a spring folk festival involving local and outside performers.

Leadership Area

This area is responsible for orienting new members to Union Board and the training of the committee chairman and Union Board Directors in their roles as leaders in student programming.

Promotion and Publicity 

The Press Publicity committee publishes notices of Union activities in The Daily Iowan, and publicizes Union events in off-campus newspapers.

The Public Relations committee keeps students and faculty aware of Union activities with bulletins and fliers. 

The Palette and Brush is responsible for creating posters for on-campus display, to publicize Union events.

The Display Case committee arranges displays and helps other organizations with exhibits in the Main Lounge of the Union and the entrance to the Gold Feather Room.

The Publications committee issues a brochure each spring listing Union Board events for the summer.

Recreation

The Recreation committee administers the varied recreation program accommodated by Union facilities, including bowling, bridge, billiards, and table games.

Research

One function of the four committees in this area is to investigate existing Union Board activities and determine whether they should be changed, dropped or further developed.

Travel

The Vacation Travel committee will sponsor a ski trip to Aspen during Christmas vacation, and a spring-break trip to the Caribbean, in addition to football and basketball migrations.
Information Service gathers information for students interested in independent travel.
