November 19, 1969 STUDENT ACTIVITIES BULLETIN Page 5 A REFERENCE AND CONSULTING SYSTEM The Office of Student Activities recently received a brochure from the Student Campus Improvement System of Davis, California. For your information THE BULLETIN publishes here a listing of the service offered by this company. REFERENCE SYSTEM: The Student Campus Improvement System is a reference and consulting service for students interested in enhancing their campus environment. The System was initiated on the premise that innovative programs which have proven successful on one campus could be adapted with equal success to other campuses. Each of the studies offered is based on an actual program and is written by a person involved with the program. In addition to an historical accounting of the program, each article analyzes the barriers to implementing the given program, including financial and personnel requirements. FIND NEW IDEAS FOR IMPROVING YOUR CAMPUS AND LEARN TO BE MORE EFFECTIVE FROM THE EXPERIENCE OF OTHERS. The following articles are available at $1.50 each: 1) An Answer to Student Transportation problems. A Student Operated Bus Service. 2) A Useful Service for the Entire Student Body, A Discount Copying Machine and Service. 3) Initiating an Experimental College. 4) Hermitage Housing, An Alternative to Dorm Living on Campus. 5) Switch Board, A Campus Communication Center. 6) Developing a Student Government Which is Independent of Administrative Control. 7) Organizing a Peaceful Protest March. 8) A Supplement to the Campus newspaper, The Campus Radio Station. 9) Abolition of the Foreign Language Requirement: Tactics and Strategy. 10) Initiating a Community Tutoring Program. 11) Communicating with Administrators, Expediting Programs verus Cooperation. 12) New concepts in Freshman Orientation. CONSULTING SYSTEM: Knowledgeable consultants are available to you in adapting the above programs to your campus.
