The Editors Editorial Scienti-Tales Page 3 Sciencerely yours! When the first issue of AMAZING WONDER TALES came out it proved a great failure, and how! Many suggestions and critizms were sent in. I and my associate Lou hope we have profited by it. So! SCIENTI-TALES!! This first issue, mimeographed, has to be good or otherwise I quit. (JOKE!). The leading story "SPACE PATROL" by yours truly, I have been told it is good, so! I really hope you like it. I may continue it as a series, or I may not. It is entirely up to you. Then, thanx to Sam Moskowitz, I have secured some pretty good material. For example in this issue: DAVID H. KELLER'S story "THE HORRIBLE PANTOMIME" which is very greatly appreciated; then there is DALE HART's BEAR-CLAW WOOS THE MAIDEN" which is a likeable tale. I have three others which as yet have not been printed. In this issue I again bring in a newcomer in the fan-field, TED MARCH! Who in his story "THE TIME EXPERIMENT" you find a story worth your while to read. Although! You will be greatly disapionted, in a way! Lou again comes in with a biogrophy this time, of, GALILEO GALILEI. By the way lou's middle name is GALILEO! H.G.WELLS, who due to the heckto in this last issue, his drawing was ruined, has again been redrawn in Reprint Scientifphoto's. Those of you who are wondering if this publication will keep on coming out steady, need not worry. Otherwise, to be sure; Lou and I would have not gone into the troble of buying a Mimeograph. Although, the next issue will be out in two months time instead of six weeks. The idea being, to give it more circulating time. Afterwards it will be published every six weeks. And maybe in the near future, monthly! You say "Why" I'll say "Because I have no security of a steady amount of readers, and material." Although theres is always myself, Lou and Jimmy Taurasi to fall back on! Now, you wouldnt want that?! So! Why not help fellows? Slated for the next issue is a new department called "CAN YOU PLACE THEM?".. It is conducted by myself. In which I draw a number of original illustrations, taking a scene from the science-stories which have made a big hit with the fans. It may come from [mag.?] AMAZING, WONDER, ASTOUNDING, MARVEL, DYNAMIC, FANTASY ADVENTURE, the new one slat d to come out edited by a former editor, and then including the English mags. FANTASY and TALES OF WONDER, plus the new one to come out. The fan with the most correct will receive a prize. Further notice will be given in the next SCIENTI-TALES. Well fellows! What do you think of the idea of having colored paper? Buff and Pink. The finest money can buy. Also the black cloth binding. I have tried to make the format of thIS magazine, neat, strong and attractive. I would like to keep it this way, but I need your support. Without any readers it is highly impossible to keep it as such. For, it is quite expensive, having it mimeographed, finest stencils and paper, plus up to twenty-eight to thirty pages. In Material! continued on page twenty-seven.....
