4 COSMIC TALES RAMBLINGS Before we wander over the editorial field, we must tell you how extremely proud we are of this issue----can you blame us? Have you ever come across a fan magazine of such proportions containing such a variety of top-flight material by professional authors and fans? Oh-yes, we8re very proud!!! We feel extremely flattered to be able to present for the first time in an American fan magazine, the well-known, active British fans, JOHN F. BURKE and DAVE McILWAIN. C.S. YOUD, another very prominent British fan, distinguishes this anniversary issue of [[underline]]Cosmic Tales[[end underline]] with several excellent pieces of writing. But that's not all! In this scintillating lineup, we are pleased to present excellent stories by the famous professional authors, DR. DAVID H. KELLER and J. HARVEY HAGGARD. Top that if you can!!! A newcomer to the fan field is Joseph Mitchel Boyer. But, his work is no less beautifully written than that of the authors mentioned above. His ability to weave words constructs a story which is thoroughly fascinating. Perhaps a few words introducing Mr. Boyer who has written a few stories for other fan magazines, would not be amiss. He is a professional journalist though only 23. Says he, "I've been writing science fiction and poetry for about six years, and feeding it solemnly into the enameled maw of a trash basket; not that I thought it really stank, but didn't want to be side-tracked into pro fiction after rocketing off for the star of newspaperdom. Was amazed not long ago to discover the planet of fandom in my little 800 inch reflector, and now come across the orbit of Cosmic Tales. At present, am an absolute convert to the Science Fan mob." Mr. Boyer, we hope, will continue to contribute to the fan magazines. Because one of our editorial team is going to college, the other will find it practically impossible, thru lack of time, to continue [[underline]]Cosmic Tales[[end underline]] in this format; Rather than to reduce its size radically or discontinue it entirely, John Guinta, of 1355 80th Street, Brooklyn, New York, has volunteered to become the future editor and publisher. All outstanding subscriptions will also be taken over by this issue to 170 Washington Avenue, West Haven, Connecticut. We wish to express our thanks to those fans who have been interested enough in our publication to write us regarding it. Your criticisms and helpful suggestions have aided us greatly, and we hope that you will support John Giunta in the same manner. And now, good reading..... ( Somehow or other, the greater part of the credit for these issues of [[underline]]Cosmic tales[[end underline]] has mistakenly fallen upon me. However, my sister, Gertrude Kuslan, deserves just as much credit for the success of our magazine....Please remember that.--Lous Kuslan) ADS [[underline]]FANTAST[[end underline]]---The Magazine for the intelligent fan, Circulation practically negligible! 40[[cent symbol]] for six issues by I.MO (not coin!)--no other shorter subs taken. CSYoud, 224 Desborough Rd. Eastleigh, Hants, England. If you want to read the elite in fan magazines, subscribe to [[underline]]Fantasy News[[end underline]], [[underline]]Spaceways[[end underline]], [[underline]]The Satellite[[end underline]], [[underline]]Scienti-Tales[[end underline]]. Addresses on request.
