ASSOCIATE DEAN FOR STUDENT DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS Responsibilities To represent the Vice President for Student Services and Dean of Academic Affairs in coordination of student development programs. To develop coordinated programs for assessment of student needs, in cooperation with the administrators of the Student Service and academic departments. To promote the educational effectiveness of Student Service programs through involvement of faculty and through academic programs where appropriate. To serve as a resource to the professional staff in developing programs to meet student needs. To serve as a resource to the professional staff for program evaluations based upon the mission of each Student Service office and effectiveness with which assessed needs are met. To remain conversant with and contribute to current organized information (publications, conferences, etc.) on the educational development of university students. Personal Qualifications Holder of the doctorate or other terminal degree as required for a faculty appointment; Record of successful college-level teaching; Experience in effective involvement with students, faculty, and professional staff in a broad range of educational programs; Ability to place student service programs in the context of the total academic environment.
