If my memory serves me correct Iowa played USC last year too, all I remember is Iowa being shattered into little threads 48-0. Besides being a football hero Sixkiller is working on what it means to be an Indian. His grandfather was a Baptist minster and his parents never did live on a reservation. Just like a Chicano doesn't have to wear black pointed shoes, have black greasy hair and live an adobe home with a dirt floor. The first class dealt with the role of the Chicano student in a white, middle class university. (con't in col. 2.) At the organizational meeting there were 8 CIASU members. ( Out of app. 40 members! ) There were also several guests from out of town. Among them were Henry Vargas, Pres. of the Davenport chapter LULACS, Jerry Vargas, another member of LULAC, Ernesto Rodriguez the Coordinator of the Area Board for Migrants in Davenport, Iowa, and Joe Desoto.
