The AICC further requests that its members be allowed to access equipment which is stored in the room next to the library; that such supplies consist of hobby work and other cultural equipment. November 21, 1978 [arrow going across] BITTER DAYS So many days that pass away Are sometimes long and sometimes short But I got them all in court So it's that time, Iguess, to pay.... When you are far away from home It's kind of lonely and feel all alone Sometimes you feel like crying And other times you feel like dying... But is it just something that passes through your mind But really, it sort of makes you feel unkind "Days," yes, those days that we are apart It feels like something drilling at my heart... It is a pain that I also feel in my brain A drilling pain that wants you to go insane... There are days that you feel all right Like for instance, then feet in height You want to jump up and down with joy Like when you were a little boy... It is true that I committed a crime And right that I should pay But not in this form of hell which is mine And in which I must suffer day by day... Slamming door and noisy keys Which only makes you grind your teeth And from those sounds you know it's nine o'clock... And that's when you see men running like a flock... After that they are rattling all night And if you can't sleep you feel like jumping up to fight You may holler, yell, curse and yell and yell But you will only get the usual response: "Go to Hell"... Then the guard passes with his flashlight Counting heads as if something wasn't right Sometimes they double check Probably hoping that he might find one of us dead... And when morning comes the sun's rays filter through the bars You get up feeling dizzy wishing that you would rather be on Mars... Buzz, buzz, ring, ring, "All Kinds of Bells" So you know right then and there that it's another "Bitter Day" in Hell... Gilbert "Shorty Chavez 11
