Page 66 ----- THE ALCHEMIST ----- McKeel described the attitude of certain fan editors down to a "T". I was more fortunate in this respect when I entered fandom, but experienced the sensation of having my letters ignored in several instances. "Collector's Corner" was O.K. "for them as likes it". I like the idea of a poetry corner. If you can keep on getting good stuff, keep it up. A long reader's section is also a good thing. I only hope you can keep coming out on a monthly schedule. ((And as I shuffle the correspondence I come across a letter from---ahaaaaaaah!--from Yahudi's own brother!!----Devilish Damon the Demon, editor of Snide and two other proposed publications which sound interesting and which we with him luck.)) Here's my comment on the two issues, for what it's worth: #1: Cover: invisibly excellent. Guest Editorial: incoherent, ungrammatical, illogical. Editorial: too grave, too optimistic, too much 'we-the-editors-of-the-Alchemist'-ing. 'Necropolis': poorly written, superbly illustrated. Other material: poor to very good. Illustrations in general: Tucker was right. Hectoing: well... #2: Cover: very near indeed to professional perfection, all except the two human figures. I am delighted to find a fan artist with a good knowledge of perspective. It revives my faith in fankind. ((oooooooooooh)) Editorial: Much better this time. Poetry: three stinkeroos and two masterpieces - the latter being Warner's and Bess Smith's sonnet,
