The above is a flash photo taken at one of the  L.A. League's famous shindigs.
This particular party was held at our secretary's, T.B.Yerke, home last June.
     In the back row at the extreme left we have Jim-e Laney...the most beautiful girl in all fandom and, I think, one of the prettiest girls in the world. This pic, however, doesn't give you much of an idea what she really looks like.
Pawing Jim-e is Bradbury. Everyone knows Ray.,.and so does Jim-e now.
     Then our sleek member, Mark Blanck.....and after him, easy—going, soft-spoken
     Clifford Conklin, not a member of the League, but a real fan, sat beside an
"outsider", May Goodman... .who took quite a fancy to Mark and decided to join the
league, but someone else caught her eye, and she didn't join after all.
    Next to May is the lovely Beverly Brown, who proved herself to be a most charming dance partner for the few fellows in the group who danced.
     Charlotte Malby, another outsider, gazes over her shoulder.....at Bill, she
thought, but as the picture was taken in the dark she ended up wondering what under the sun Mark was doing.
    On the end sits the sneering Morojo...don't ask us why she sneered cause we don't know.
   Starting at the left again we find Henrietta Burdick. That innocent expression reveals she's no Stfan.
    After Henri we find Russ Hodgkins....rather wrapped up for the moment. Beside
Russ is Walt Daugherty, our director, and then Pogo. I might add that both those
legs don't belong to Pogo.    The one on the right is Ackerman's... .AND HE WANTS TO WEAR SHORTS TO THE CONVENTION!!!
