PAGE TWO FANTASY NEWS ------------------------------------------------- bag for a quick out always threw to first. Unger was the surprize of the game. Also believed to be one of the poorer players he was assigned the position of catcher. Why the man was a fiend. No one dared to hit a foul or tip the ball while he was behind the plate. Nothing was too hard for him to catch and the ball stuck to his hands like glue. On three different occassions his catching of foul tips prevented the Cometeers for scoring heavily. ALL HAIL JULIUS. There was little to be said for the Panthers. Sykorn was forced out of the box early in the game, and Widner stuck to it bravely only to be eventually replaced by Baltadonis. Arthur L Widner hit the only four bagger of the game. Due to a trio of errors he rounded the bases untouched. Everyone thought that he was due to keel over from high blood pressure at any moment. Sykorn hit a two bagger, surprising all his critics. Ray Van Houten delighted the opposition. Everytime he’d get up to the bat he’d meet three balls and no strikes. The opposite team would go into a conference and then some one would yell: “Ya yella belly ya, afraid to strike at the ball, ya got no guts”. The enraged Van Houten promptly struck out, not once but two or three times. Will Sykorn’s father, who was the ump, showed little parental devotion. His decision were cruel, merciless, at least the Phillies thought so. Tho he should have been hoarse from two days a auctioning Moskowitz bellowed unceasingly thruout the game. He talked a first class game, got four hits out of 6 times up, one a double, which was the longest hit of the game, but Sam was too tired to get any further than second. Langley Searles got 5 hits out of 6 times at bat. Taurasi got 6 hits out of 6 times at bat. Madle, Trained, Agnew, did little or nothing. Mario Racic and Hyman Tiger carted out Gallons of ice water that lasted only monutes. To Charles D Hornig we owe our thanks for one of the most inefficient bits of score keeping yet. Speer photographed various objects on the field, Sykorn took some moving pictures of the game.
