THE THREE EDITORS OF SUN SPOTS [Photograph of the three editors] [captioned: Plotkin--de la Ree--Gaetz] [signature] Roy Plotkin [signature] Gerry de la Ree [signature] Roderick Gaetz The Autobiography of C. Roy Plotkin - - - I was born on Oct. 19, 1924, which was 16 yrs. ago, in London, England. At the age of 14 I came to the United states in 1939. Since then I have attended Westwood High school, and am in my Senior year. The first Science Fiction Story In one of the early S̲t̲a̲r̲t̲l̲i̲n̲g̲s̲. I immediately liked it, and in June, 1929 I helped found the Solaroid Club. I have been buying my own Science Fiction mags since Feb. of this yr. and my collection, though small is rapidly growing. My favorite magazine is S̲t̲a̲r̲t̲l̲i̲n̲g̲, author-Eando Binder, artist-Bok, and my favorite fan-magazine is Spaceways. I am leaving for Florida at the end of September, and will be interested in knowing if there are any S-f fans in or around Miami Beach. The Autobiography of Gerry de la Ree, Jr. - - - I was born on the 7th of Sept., 1924, which makes be just 16. I have lived all my life right here in Westwood, never going further than 150 miles away in all that time. I read my first Science Fiction magazine late in 1938. It was the November issue of Amazing Stories. Always having liked fantastic stories, I though the mag. was great. I have never missed a copy of any S-f magazine since that date, when it was every humanly possible. From that day my collection has grown from that one Amazing to 250. I have just purhcased a mag I have been looking for, for quite some bit of time. This was Vol. 1 #1 issue of Amazing. My favorite magazine is a tie between Astounding and Startling. My favorite author is also a tie. Between Binder and Wellman. As artists go, I prefer Paul, Rogers and Finlay. The fan-mag I like best is Spaceways. The autobiography of Roderick R. Gaetz. * * * * * I was born in Canada 17 yrs. ago on February 4, 1923. I lived the early part of my life in Seattle Wssh, and moved to Westwood about 6 years ago. In 1938 I spent 11 months in Australia. Upon my return I found that every-body on Bogert Pl. was reading S-f and belonged to the Solaroids. I also joined, and the first S-f story I read was The Bridge To Earth in Startling. I am red headed, wear glasses, weigh 125 lbs., and have hazel eyes. My favorite author is Wellman, and my top honors, as mags go, I will give to Amazing. I'll take Paul as my favorite artist, and next to Sun Spots I'll take the Alchemist as my favorite fan publication. This takes care of me, and just about brings this page to a close. On behalf of my co-editors and myself, I want to say that we hope you have enjoyed this page, and the rest of this issue.
