April, 1941. SUN SPORTS Page 23 SEE BACK COVER SATURN NEXT ISH DEATH OF PLUTO By Roderick "Paul" Gaetz Poor Uncle John! Stranded or Pluto--for fifteen minutes! Yes, that's how long it took him to bury his best friend. "I could stop right here, as Uncle John only stays from 10-to-15 minutes on one planet at a time, and then spends from twenty to thirty years going to the next one. You may think that our hero might be rather old, but so was Noah. Those O'Levey's Little Lilly-White Liver Tablets are marvelous. (They both used 'em!) Getting back to Pluto, Uncle John and his best friend, Cousin Rufus, had stopped on our far flung (very far flung) neighbor planet, to get a drink of water for Cousin Rufus. Uncle John hastily slapped a helmet over hie friend's head just before he left the ship, and went back muttering something about Rufus being an idiot.((That guy would forget his helmet, if it weren't screwed on him.)) ((Ye Gods, it isn't, realized Uncle John as he peered out the porthole.)) While John fretted tack in the ship, Rufus looked around for something to drink. His eye spied an appetizing piece of ice. He always did like to suck on icicles! Putting up his gloved hand, he took one, and throwing open the front of his space helmet prepared to take a drink of the soon-to-be melted icicle. My was he surprised to find no air to breathe. —Well, after John buried Rufus, he sailed off for Saturn, from where our next reports will come. So till next month, so long. Going to the Denvention?
