Page Eight --- Science Fiction Collector statement that "I Favor Fan Feuds!," mistakenly maligning me not once but twice. "Unmindful" am I? that "millions of clear-eyed youths are getting their young heads blasted off." I have a son of 15! (Vodoso) I do not follow the accounts of war and feel safe. Far from it! Have you never noticed my book reviews in N̲o̲v̲a̲c̲i̲o̲u̲s̲: Woman Alive, Armored Doves, The Impregnable Women?" Anti-war all of them! I air-mailed my US Senator urging him to do his part to keep us (US) out of war. I have urged fellow fans to follow suit. Dale, for instance, will you back me up on this? Russ Hodgklns, Paul Freehafer Ray Bradbury, Pogo, 4e, Yerke have you not heard me? I personally stand to lose what means most in the world to me, in a real war. From a purely personal selfish standpoint alone I oppose war. And intellectually, my convictions are far stronger than that! So: to sum up, I am a Pacifist and Moskowitz is -- mistaken. If not mendaciousness, his only out is Wishful Thinking. Regarding my little article on fan feuding (by whose tenets I still hold); Since when has a feud carried on by correspondence and amateur journalism been comparable with War? Anyone who retires from the fanfield because of a fan feud in my opinion must have a vicious personality that can't endure the exposure, or a deflated ego he wants to hide. Or, it may be that he no longer finds the subject Interesting. As to my statement that fan feuds create enduring friendships, which friend Moskowitz derides, I believe I may cite the case of Wollhelm and myself as an example. Our mutual estimation was tottering on the brink of enmity until this feud came along. Now l may say for my part that we are firm friends.
