Now we (that little pronoun spells RAP to all of you, and has, up to now, been a fighting word!) are asking the fan world for help. We want you to climb on the band wagon and help us push this new type of fiction to the top--not because we want to sell more copies of our magazine and get filthy rich, but because with your help we can add materially to human knowledge and scientific advancement. Mr. Shave's stories in AMAZINGSTORIES are a sensation (& readers already have ranked the first as a classic) but he has material (in form of a 200,000 word novel) which we absolutely cannot publish in the magazine; we'd be yanked off the stands in a jiffy. If it ever sees print it will e because of an organization like yours. However we are asking nothing -- het. Only that you read all of Shaver's stories as they come out. If you find them worthwhile, write to RAP& tell him so. Ther eis no use in publishing anything unless it will be read by the right people -- and you fans are the right people (much as I hate to admit it). This is the first time I've had anything that would make me active in the fan world, and I'm pretty excited about it!
